Definitely still warm in October, but we came out once again with 180 bags (which turned out not to be enough for the 1st time in a while *eek*).
Thanks to folks donating to our PayPal (AustinAHH.org/Donate), we were able to help out Eddie again with a new pair of steel-toed workboots for his job. For those who have been around a while, this is same person we helped over 3 years ago when he 1st got the position and required steel-toed boots to begin working. It was wonderful to see him still at it. As always, thank you to I Support the Girls - Austin and GO Humanity for aiding with hygiene supplies and food items, respectively. An amazing human also gave us a large amount of travel-sized hand sanitizer this time around, so thanks so much to you!! It was a hot and muggy morning in central Texas. Thanks so much to the 18 volunteers that came out today to distribute every single of our 178 bags into the community. As this was a Transit Assistance Program (TAP) Distribution Day, we definitely saw an increase in folks coming through the line.
Goodness, what a hot morning. Being in the shade is no abatement from this continuing heat streak in Texas. We had plenty of gallon jugs of water and towels to help people beat the heat just a little better. The biggest of shout-outs to people that donated via AustinAHH.org/Donate or the wishlist. It really makes a difference month after month.
