The Pre-Packing Event for the Adjusted Giveaway

​Hands sanitized, gloves on and masks on for this pre-packing event. This was a very different beast to take on, but it worked out super well. The original location being outside was hosed, literally, as the rain was unrelenting, so we move to our pre-planned backup locale.

 The focus this time was much more on food items; since we got confirmation that many groups that provide food regularly are no longer functioning for the time being, we agreed that a larger focus was needed for that. Along with the usual toiletries, feminine hygiene products, and toilet paper, each bag received a combination of several granola bars, nutri-grain bars, slim jims, flavored-crackers packs, no-refridgeration tuna salad kits, peanuts/peanut bars, applesauce, fruit cups and fruit snacks.

We want to extend a huge thank you to the many people who have contributed to the wishlist and directly through our PayPal link; after posting the video of our plan to move forward, it was a huge rush that came in and we couldn't be happier for the support.
A very special thanks... let's just say to a public servant 😆... for the gloves and masks that made this event wholly possible. The masks were simply amazing and were used for this pre-packing event and will also be utilized for the giveaway itself.

A huge thank you to I Support the Girls - Austin for providing all of the feminine hygiene products. They are running a drive right now to get additional supplies, especially during this pandemic. Thanks to the Atheist Community of Austin for help in securing larger items like the toilet paper (which was much harder to find). In fact, the toilet paper we got was an extra large roll that is very tightly wound so as to last much longer.

Thanks to the Freethinkers Association of Central Texas for some bottled water and micro-fiber face towels!!

As this was our first time adapting to this new era, we did not know how this process would effectively work. Given our experience of this packing drive, we feel confident that this can be replicated, if the need remains, for future months to ensure that our friends and neighbors whom we love, interact with, and aid each month still receive some assistance to the best our our ability.

Tomorrow, we will have four distributors that will go out with gloves and masks to hand out the prepackaged bags, so you can expect a report back tomorrow 💜💜💜💜
