New Year's Day Distribution!! Ringing in the New Year

1/1/2023

Out on New Year's Day, it's what we do Huge hugs to the volunteers who came out to pack up 225 bags and distribute them out the next day!!

Thanks as always to GO Humanity for helping to obtain food items and to I Support the Girls - Austin for the multitude of Lola wipes and menstruation supplies. Thanks to an amazing donor, we were able to provide winter-knit hats to all recipients!!

Bananas and oranges accompanied 10 gallons of coffee, which were ALL completely gone by the end of the 2nd locale. In fact, all distribution bags were also exhausted at the second locale, leaving only bus passes for distribution to our third locale further south. As a result, the plan is to increase our overall yield to at least 250 bags, as the last few months have definitely shown the increased need. Please consider contributing at AustinAHH.org/Donate as we scale up our work.

We'll be back at it on February 4th for the pre-pack and on the 5th for distribution.

December 2022 Distribution Recap

12/30/2022

As we head into 2023 in just a few days, we wanted to thank the amazing 16 volunteers that came out in December to hand out all 180 bags of food, hygiene and other supplies to our community. As always, please consider contributing at AustinAHH.org/donate, if you are able.

As always, a wonderful shout-out to I Support the Girls - Austin for the menstruation hygiene supplies and volunteer muscle on both days. For helping us to obtain food items, a wonderful thank you to GO Humanity, as a part of their Food Security Program.
We had a HUGE assortment of clothing and, the star of the tables, SHOES !! We also handed out 31-day bus passes (as we will do EVERY month thru May of 2023). This was really a huge victory that came to fruition in late October, and our recipients, along with thousands of others around the Travis County Continuum of Care, will be able to have uninterrupted, reliable transportation as Capital Metro keeps working on a systemic solution.

As it says in our events, the Pre-Packing will be @ 1pm tomorrow, December 31st, with the distribution happening on New Year's Day @ 9:30am. Our friends and neighbors we serve every month know when and where we will be on the 1st Sunday of the month; whether it be a holiday or in the midst of COVID, we shall be there
See ya'll this weekend !!
