The Winter Giveaway Continues... January 2019 Recap!!

Thank you so much for the 40 volunteers that came out today to help, as it was HUGE!!! We were able to give assistance to over 240 people today!!!💜💜💜💜💜

We generated a lot of excitement this time around with our special, winter-focused offerings. These included large blankets, thermal socks, crocheted hats, coats/jackets, hand-warmers, gloves, and *drumroll* thermal underwear (tops and bottoms)!!!!
Thanks so much to those that donated through the wish list. We received toilet paper, baby wipes, backpacks, combs, brushes, and more. Folks sending donations through PayPal directly contributed to buying coffee, hand sanitizer, ziploc bags, razors, water, cups, and more. 😍😍
A special shout-out to The Atheist Experience host, Tracie, who put together a donation drive for blankets!!! Many of the large, dark blankets purchased, as well as the smaller ones next to them in the photos, were due to her efforts. 🤩🤩
I Support the Girls - Austin, ATX's chapter of I Support the Girls, was out in force helping to directly supply our friends and neighbors with all the feminine hygiene supplies they need. Thanks so much ya'll!!!
Some of the shoes appearing on the tables were collected as a part of the Project Shoehorn group, so here's shout-out and thank you to ya'll.
The Atheist Community of Austin greatly aided in making the thermal underwear even a possiblity (let alone reality), in addition to providing a space where folks dropped off donations!!! Thanks so much to the ACA volunteers that attended this giveaway, too!
The weather will dictate whether the next giveaway will be a part of the winter-focused drive. When we post the next event, it will indicate if this is the case.
It's incredible work that we accomplish together, and we're thrilled to be one of the largest groups of this kind, serving one of the largest populations. The next giveaway will be February 3 @ 9:15am. We look forward to seeing all of you there!!!
