July 7, 2019 Giveaway!!

Goodness...summer was in its full, humid swing this last weekend, but 25 volunteers still came out to serve our community on the 1st Sunday. In all, about 190 folks went through the line on a muggy morning and spirits were high.

A lovely shout-out to new folks that came out for their first times assisting at an AAHH giveaway. We love to see new faces and hope y'all had a blast out there.

❤️❤️❤️❤️'s galore to I Support the Girls - Austin, the ATX chapter of I Support the Girls, for giving us all of the feminine hygiene products we needed for the summertime. We have plenty to carry us over for the next month or 2.

As warm as it was, coffee drinkers still came out, absorbing 4 gallons of it. It was no surprise though that the champ of Drink Island was the cool, Kool - Aid we had on offer. It was completely gone out of there. (Psst- Hey Kool-Aid!!! If you have a few extra pre-mixed tubs of tropical punch laying around the warehouse, we go through about 40 gallons minimum in a given year at our giveaways. DM us, yo!! 🤫😉)

Thank you so much to those who dropped off items at the Atheist Community of Austin library. We picked up bags of clothes, boxes of shoes, large hand bags, and other assorted items to incorporate to the line. With all the donated clothing from all sources, Clothing Island needed more table space than usual to keep up.

Smooches to the Freethinkers Association of Central Texas for the razors and hair grease for the African-American population out here. Even with about 30 jars and reserving them only for their target audience, it was insufficient in serving everyone for the 1st time, so perhaps 40 will become the new norm moving forward.

Shout out to the Austin Humanists at Work for bringing out lots of moist towelettes to the line 😃. Thanks to everyone who purchased items from the wishlist, including lots of apple juice and condoms 😘

We shall be getting with Capital Metro soon as we look to pass out another round of 500 Day Passes to those in our community. The last one we did in May was a super popular one and we should have the donations to do it this time around too. Yay!!! 😁😁
