June 2021 Pre-Pack and Giveaway Recap

There's so much news that we'll have to post things in pieces.

1st and foremost, a wonderful thank you to all the volunteers that came out this past weekend.  We packed up 341 bags, totaling 1,023 meals, in our new black plastic bags to distribute to our 4 primary locations + small camps further north. 

Thanks so much to the Atheist Community Of Austin  for help to purchase toiletries and supplies for this giveaway.  A huge shout-out to Foundation Beyond Belief  for their Food Security Program grant that will aid us to provide additional food items on a regular basis. As always, thanks to the awesome I Support the Girls  Austin chapter, I Support the Girls - Austin , for providing both volunteers and period hygiene supplies.  Lastly, a thank you to the Freethinkers Association of  Central Texas  for helping with water and granola for this month.

We also fielded some special requests from folks living out in Riverside and at 290, heading back to the store to acquire additional dog food and firewood, respectively, for these groups.

For all the donors who contributed via our PayPal (AustinAHH.org/Donate), we extend to you all a warm embrace.  As mentioned in months past, growing our recipient base to regularly serve over 300 comes with its own challenges, so thank you all for helping us meet our goals month after month.  It makes all the difference in the world for what we do. 💜💜💜

The next giveaway will fall on July 4 this year, but we will still hold our event as normal.
