More Heat Comes Through... June 2022 Recap

We definitely were feeling the heat this past weekend.  Much love to the amazing volunteers who made this giveaway happen. We were a well-oiled machine for the 1st locale before splitting up to go further south to canvass 2 others.  

Every drop of 4.5 gallons of cold Kool-Aid was demolished at the 1st location, so we're actually going to see about bringing more next month. Coffee was 8 gallons in by the time the last locale was completed. This was the 1st time in quite a while that multiple children came through the line, which was disheartening to see. Out of the 173 bags, only 3 remained after distribution in all locales.

The 1st thanks goes to the amazing folks that donate via our Amazon wishlist and PayPal (austinahh.org/donate). Another goes out to the local Austin groups that have amazingly funded the Transit Assistance Program. People were SOOOO happy to receive another 31-day pass for the month of June; it really means a lot to so many for work, case worker appointments, obtaining recovery services, and so much more.

A wonderful hug to GO Humanity for aiding to obtain food items for this distribution, and to I Support the Girls - Austin for our supply of tampons and pads that we were able to hand out. Thank you to the Freethinkers Association of Central Texas for purchasing 160+ bananas for this giveaway. Folks definitely enjoyed them.

The next TAP distribution for bus passes will be the 1st Sunday in September.

The next pre-packing will be on July 2nd with the distribution happening on July 3rd!! We love you all, and we will see you soon!!
