Our Mother's Day giveaway went off without a hitch!!! Thanks so much to our volunteers that provided flowers and treats to celebrate the occasion for our recipients.
It was a blast and we received a lot of positive feedback for doing so.
We were able to help about 175 folks, in addition to feeding their four-legged friends (shout-out to Dixie for that). We had a few volunteers that had to leave early to head to the Austin Oasis meeting, but, in total, there were 24 folks helping to distribute items. A very big shout out to Support the Girls - Austin for providing 500 products for feminine hygiene and bras. They donate not just to us, but to many organizations focused on girls/women who are low-income or experiencing homelessness. 2 large bags of clothes were picked clean in a matter of minutes. Thanks again to all the people who donated, both near and far.
