Things are starting to heat up!! May 2022 Secular Week of Action Recap

​Please visit AustinAHH.org/donate to help contribute to our ongoing work!  Much love to the 10 volunteers that came out despite the horrendous traffic, rain and warm weather.  Along with bags of aid, we had tables of clothes, fresh fruit, 8 gallons of coffee and 4 gallons of tropical punch Kool-aid.​

One of our Focused-Transit Assistance Program (F-TAP) recipients came out in person to pick up their passes for the month of May, which is always a nice surprise.  Thank you to I Support the Girls - Austin for supplying your volunteer labor 😁 and all hygiene supplies for those who menstruate.  Much love to Foundation Beyond Belief for providing t-shirts, as a part of the Beyond Belief Network, as well as a grant providing for additional food items.  Also, thanks to the Freethinkers Association of Central Texas for the bananas, coffee creamer and Kool-aid. After the 1st locale, we split up to send one group to a wooded area where we know a large population still lives, while several of us went further south.

When we reached an area that was recently sweeped by police in April, we found a handful of people that were still living there. As we proceeded to serve coffee and hand out items, we had a small amount of 31-day passes on hand, just to give some extra support.  The reaction was so overwhelming; one person kind of broke down right in front of us with joy, overcome with emotion as she explained that the police just came and seized their property without offering any help or assistance for relocation.

The next distribution will take place on June 5th with the prepack happening the preceding day. In addition, June will be another quarterly 200, 31-day pass distribution day.
